Provillus for men

Ok, i will admit I am one of the 85 million Americans who suffer from premature hairloss. At least I am not alone. As much as I have tried to live in denial, resorting to bad comb overs or wearing a hat to weddings and funerals, I have now decided to face my thinning hair head on and do something about it. I have decided to give Provillus a try to see if all the talk I have heard about contains any type of merit.

What causes male pattern baldness?

Well, I am glad you asked that, because I have been doing a lot of research on this subject.  Long answer short: Your Momma!  Okay, now before you try to get into a round of fistacuffs, let me explain further. The cause for most types male pattern baldness are genetic in nature. The baldness gene is typically arrrives via the X chromosome that your mother contributed. This X chromosome is usually passed down from her own father. So, if you granddaddy on your mother’s side was bald (mine was) chaces are around 75 percent that you are going to experience some type of premature hair loss. Ouch, I know.

This type of Male pattern baldness  is called  Androgenic Alopecia. What happens is that the androgen floating around your system ends up hooking up with a enyzme called 5-alpha reductase and is converted into dihydrotestosterone, or DHT for short. This DHT stuff is considered the main culprit and causing your hair to thin. It binds with follicles, strangling them, and causing them to grow thinner and thinner hair until the follicles just finally give up and wither away. An apt anology is to consider DHT as a sort of weed in your scalp patch.

What can I do to stop this DHT thingie from happening?

Well, I am gald you asked that to. Back in my Grandfathers day, pretty much the only thing you could do is get yourself a good toupee. Sure there were some “folk remedies” which people claimed work,  most of these snake oils were just a bunch of hocus pocus mumbo jumbo, although some of them had a little bit of merit and, at the very least, nourished the scalp with some essential vitamins and minerals. Science, however, has recently stumbled upon something that actually does help men regrow their hair by inhibiting  DHT and letting hair follicles run wild. This magic substance is called MInoxidil.  Scientists are still not sure how this stuff really works when it comes to preventing hairloss and regrowing hair, they just know that it does. The stuff was orginally intended to be used as a medication for high blood pressure in men, but was then marketed for hairloss when test subjects started to report that their hair was growing back.  You have probably heard of some of the more famous brandnames  that Minoxidil has been sold under, including Rogaine, Regaine, Rinoxidil, and of course Provillus.

So why Provillus?

I decided to try Provillus for men because I liked their overall approach to the problem.  Besides providing a topical minoxidil solution, they also include a a herbal supplemnt to help you grow a healthy head of hair. While, minoxidil is the only thing that has been approved by the FDA to help regrow los hair, there are other things out there that can help keep your hair and scalp healthy and strong.  This herbal supplement includes things like Vitamin B6, Saw palmetto, Biotin, Zinc and even Nettle seed. Many of these vitamins and herbs have been used for centuries to help people grow healthy and lustrous hair and I figure what is the point of regrowing my hair if I am not going to regrow healthy beautiful hair that would make Fabio jealous.

It took a while for the Provillus to start working and I had to force myself to stay on track despite the lack of results. Patience, however, eventually paid off and pretty soon I began to see little hairs popping out where my horseshoe once was. These little hairs grew out strong and healthy, probably thanks to the herbal supplement. Every week, the hair on my head keeps getting fuller and I am looking  younger as well as acting more confident. i have broken the family curse and have even turned my three balding brothers onto the Provillus secret.  Two have already ordered it and the third  will probably start, so people won’t be asking if he was adopted.
